Founding Sales Lead
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Business Development Lead to explosively expand our client base (B2B) as we enter a new stage of growth. As the first full-time sales hire, you will play a pivotal role in onboarding some of our earliest clients.
The ideal candidate is a highly autonomous, entrepreneurial, and deeply mission-driven individual with at least 3 years of experience in prospecting and closing leads in a startup. A network in generative AI, media, journalism, insurance, or blockchain (one or multiple) is a significant plus. You are a top performer, customer-obsessed, and love to win deals while thinking outside the box.

Founding Sales Lead Responsibilities
- Developing and executing a comprehensive business development and sales strategy to win new business and drive revenue
- Managing the sales cycle, from first outbound to launch
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including high-profile partnerships and collaborations
- Designing and executing sales strategies, translating these into targeted sales activities and campaigns
- Collaborating with the marketing team to create and implement effective lead generation campaigns
- Preparing and delivering compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to potential clients and partners
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers
- Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote the business
- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in relevant industries and topics
What Makes You a Great Founding Sales Lead:
- 3+ years of experience in startup sales, from prospecting to closing (with a strong track record), including at least 1 year focused on complex sales cycles
- Ability to grasp and simplify highly technical concepts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Strong negotiation and closing skills, with a track record of securing high-value deals
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations and pitches
- Proficiency with sales tools and HubSpot as a CRM
- Willingness to travel abroad frequently for industry events and conferences
