What it costs
Does hiring for a language add a lot to the salary?
Not as much as hiring managers usually expect. A language requirement raises the floor rather than the ceiling: a strong senior rep costs what a strong senior rep costs. What disappears is the cheap end — you will not hire a German-speaking SDR in London at the bottom of the English-speaking range.
